Puerto Rico had my heart for the summer. I was fortunate enough to visit this vibrant country twice this past year and on both occasions, it was filled with nothing but sweet memories!
My first time in Puerto Rico was amazing and I have a four-part in depth blog posts about them here.
The cruise ship stopped at Puerto Rico on the fourth day and although we only got to spend a little time there, I was elated to be there the second time. PS: This stop is the shortest of the three so plan accordingly! 🙂
Because I had visited previously, I quickly took the role of the tour guide. I made sure my parents tried the national meal which is the Mofongo. It’s soooo good and it’s basically plantain mixed with a meat of your choice – shrimp, chicken, you name it and of course, the national drink too, Pina Colada. We got to hit the streets of old San Juan and as you’d expect, we got a couple souvenirs. It was really fun and though I’m done with PR for at least the next year, I do look forward to going back sometime in the future!
