It hasn’t taken long for me to realize that in Abuja, there are hardly any great places to eat. Correct me if I’m wrong please or maybe, I am just used to the Lagos standard of having overwhelming options?
For lunch yesterday, I decided to visit Metro Café which is new spot in Abuja. It only launched 5 months ago and there has been A LOT of hype about it so, I had to visit!
For starters, there was FREE wi-fi! I was already smitten without even eating just because wi-fi truly is essential in life LOL! I went ahead and ordered the Singapore Fried Rice, The Hot Beef Plate, Chinese Wings and the Banana and Strawberry Smoothie.
My choice of food was recommended by a couple of people who had visited previously so, I had to try it for myself.
The Singapore Fried Rice was really good and is good enough for two people. It’s served with no side so, I will recommend ordering a sauce to go with it. I opted for the hot beef plate which is served sizzling, literally… the plate sizzles!
Hahaha! I recall everything being freshly made to perfection. That was pretty impressive as, I expected “café” standard of food so, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food! The portions were pretty friendly too and as I type this, I about to eat my left overs 😉
Alimah’s Score Sheet
Food – 4/5
Ambience – Very chill vibes. Music is light! There is seating in 3 different areas: Outside which is super casual, and two inside. A part of the inside seating gave me cafe vibes and the other part gave me proper restaurant vibes. I’m sitting at the proper restaurant area in the picture above 🙂
Price – ₦₦ (2 drinks, 2 entrees and a side cost us a little over ₦10,000 – pretty reasonable!)
Service – No complaints here!
Alimah Tip – The menu options are endless! Take your time! LOL
